Jo Mathers is a gifted contemporary artist who is equally skilled in both realistic and abstract forms of expression. She was born in Kyoto, Japan, and her multi- cultural upbringing has greatly influenced her artwork, and her passion for travel.
Her work tends to combine the influences of both Eastern and Western cultures. Her childhood involved extensive travel, as her father was a career military man. That wanderlust has stayed with Mathers, and also plays a large roll in her work. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and finds inspiration from the people, and places she encounters.
Jo Mathers graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale with a degree in commercial art and design. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she is represented in public and private collections worldwide. |
