Myung-Sik Kim was born in Seoul, Korea in 1949. After studying at the Chung Ang University in Seoul, Korea, he received a BFA in 1974. He continued with his studies earning a MFA from the same university in 1981. Today he paints and is a professor in the Fine Art College at Dong A. University in Pusan, Korea.

Personal Exhibition:

From 1984 until 2001, Mr. Kim had numerous personal exhibitions in galleries located in cities throughout Korea including: Seoul, Taejeon, Pusan, Taegu, Kwang Ju, Ulsan, and Masan. He also exhibited in Madrid, Spain, Chiba, Japan and SoHo, New York.

Group Exhibition:

From 1980 until 2001, the artist has also been involved in group exhibitions in galleries located in: Tokyo, Kobe, and Osaka, Japan, Pusan, Ulsan and Seoul, Korea, Beijing, China, Valparaiso, Chile, New Delhi, India, Paris France, Monte Carol, Monaco, Frankfurt, Germany, and Los Angeles and New York City, USA.

Awards:

Mr. Sik Kim has won many awards including: 1977 Bronze Prize at the Exhibition of Korea Artist's Association, 1978 Special Prize at the Exhibition of Korea Artist's Association, 1980 Bronze Prize at the Public Exhibition of Gusang Jeon, Korea, 1981 Special Prize at the Public Exhibition of Gusang Jeon, Korea, 1981 Special Prize at the Choong Ang Press Great Art Contest, 1982 Golden Prize at the Public Exhibition of Gusang Jeon, Korea and in 1993 he was selected "Today's Artist" in Korea.
