Miguel Dominguez

Miguel Dominguez was born in El Paso, Texas on October 3, 1941. He spent his formative years in the agricultural valley of Salinas, California where he gained an appreciation for open spaces, wooded areas and rolling hills. Those early observations now reflect themselves in many of his paintings.

Miguel is primarily self-taught in art though he studied landscape architecture at Cal Poly. His education was interrupted by military service after which he worked as a cartographer. During this time he gravitated toward working creatively with watercolors and in 1971 he began his career as professional watercolor artist.

Dominguez's unique watercolor technique has been featured in myriad art magazines including The Artist's Magazine, American Artists, and Southwest Art as well as a hardback book produced by International Artists Magazine

The artist has had over fifty solo and group exhibitions and has shown in New York City, Cape Cod, Sedona, Santa Fe, as well as in Carmel. He was invited to join the prestigious Carmel Art Association in 1973.

Miguel and his wife, Alexandra, make their home on the Monterey Peninsula. They have two adult sons.
